Chaise Lounge
A chaise lounge is an upholstered couch in the shape of a chair that is long enough for people to stretch out their legs to rest. It is often also called "chaise lounge" in North America, especially in the furniture industry. This spelling and pronunciation has become well established so far people think it is an English word. Chaise longue is actually a borrowed name for curious combination of chair and daybed. But take at a quick glance at the word longue, something would
remind you the English word lounge. Lounge became folk etymology’s contribution to the name of the artifact, so that some Americans now both spell and pronounce it as an American hybrid, chaise lounge. Both terms are Standard today, but those who know French still take exception to chaise lounge.
The chaise lounge will definitely bring people into the ultimate beautiful hours in outdoor summer relaxation no matter you are tanning by the pool, taking a break after an afternoon of yard work, relaxing in the warm sun with your legs stretched out, cold drink in hand, super sizzling on the barbecue. A chaise lounge was traditionally used as a daybed for people, a chair with a long seat for you to recline with the feet elevated – as we all know that this is such a great way to rest and stretch out.
Chaise lounges come in many kinds of materials: resin, aluminum, teak and wicker and more. Most wooden chaise lounges are made from high-density hardwood with excellent weather-resistant properties. The bench’s slotted surface allows rain to flow through, rather than collect the rainwater, which will definitely bring damage to the wood. Hardwood chaise lounges are sturdy and light enough for people to move around in the garden area. Enough oil will be helpful to repel the ravages of rain, sun, and dew. Rust-resistant
hardware and mortise and tenon structure also enhance the strength and durability of the furniture.
Resin chaise lounges are comfortable and affordable for everyone who likes to linger around in the garden. Usually made white in color, resin chaise lounges are manufactured for years of trouble free service. Anyone who is familiar with resin would know that this material is extremely good for outdoor furniture. It would not warp, split and fade under any kind of bad weather situations. It is also naturally resistant to heat, mildew, chlorine and suntan oil. Some of them even have a adjustable back for you
to recline in a perfect good angle.
There are also portable chaise lounges that are light weighted and can be fold together so people could carry it around easily and store it somewhere in a small space. The main frame is made of rustproof aluminum thus provides a strong structure to keep the surface fabric tight enough to hold people’s body but still comfortable enough because the fabric still curves to offer a relaxed seating position. Of course you can add a pillow to achieve the maximum of comfort. The weather-resistant nylon fabric dries
quickly, and resists mold and harsh UV exposure under the sun. When folded, the curve of the lounge nestles close to the body, making it easy to carry without having to struggle awkwardly with arms held out to the side as with traditional lounges.
